This low-budget Beasley bungalow renovation in Arataki gives this home a second life with a ‘light & bright’ brief, it’s worlds away from the original run-down dwelling.

A new roof and double-glazed aluminium windows were added to ensure a warm, dry home, along with internal insulation. Internal walls were removed to create an open plan living space with a large four bay stacker opening out onto a large deck to embrace all day sun. Old, heavily worn flooring was removed to expose beautiful tawa flooring and a modern kitchen, laundry and bathroom were employed.
